Swapx: From Single-Token Deposits to Vault Shares
Swapx is a decentralized exchange on Sonic with ICHI vaults that accept a single token and manage the underlying liquidity. The deposit token guides the strategy’s inventory preference, while the vault token represents a share of the managed assets.
Updated:
Deposit Tokens and Vault Shares
ICHI’s YieldIQ strategy favors retaining the deposited asset, although the vault can hold both pool tokens. The quantities behind each vault share can change as the strategy manages that inventory.
A self-managed concentrated-liquidity position leaves range selection and adjustments to the provider. The vault’s strategy handles those adjustments for its depositors.
Inventory Changes Inside the Vault
YieldIQ compares the vault’s token inventory ratio with its target. Excess inventory of the deposit token can prompt a sale; a shortfall can prompt a purchase. Repositioning can also happen without a swap. Triggers depend on vault parameters and may involve inventory thresholds, prices or time intervals.
High volatility can cause YieldIQ to widen its price ranges. Concentrated liquidity outside its active price range stops earning trading fees, which explains the need for range management.
SWPx Incentives and Trading Fees
SWPx rewards for managed vault liquidity come through weekly emissions. Pool voting determines emission allocations, so ownership of a vault share alone does not specify a fixed reward rate.
Trading fees have a different distribution path. ICHI documents fee routing to voting gauges for ve(3,3) deployments, the model used by Swapx. Swapx’s veSWPx holders vote to earn trading-fee rewards and voting incentives. A veSWPx position comes from locking SWPx; the vault token represents ownership of managed liquidity.
Redemption and Exceptional Vault States
Vault-share redemption exchanges LP tokens for the holder’s share of vault assets. The assets represented by that share reflect the vault’s managed holdings.
ICHI’s YieldIQ Strategy documentation includes possible vault locking or manual intervention during extreme volatility.
Vault Selection Checklist
- For a preferred inventory asset, match that preference to the vault’s accepted deposit token.
- For reward comparisons, separate SWPx liquidity emissions from veSWPx voting-fee rewards.
- For time-sensitive access, check the vault’s operating state against YieldIQ’s documented extreme-volatility limitations.
